New and high growth businesses on the Sunshine Coast are invited to pitch their innovative products and services for a chance to win a $20,000 prize package that could kick-start their early stage venture.
The Innovation Centre Business Pitch Competition prize includes access to shared office space, business development services and consultations on legal issues, capital raising and marketing.
There are two categories for the competition:
- Concept: businesses will focus their pitch on their venture’s concept and business model. This category is for businesses who are looking to validate their concepts, test their models and gain some early stage feedback.
- Investment: established businesses will present as if pitching for angel, venture capital or private equity investment. Pitches in this category will be judged in the same way a potential investor would judge the pitch – does the pitch sell the value of the business and encourage further investment.
The panel of lawyers, marketers, finance specialists and seasoned entrepreneurs will also provide feedback on your business plan. It’s a formal opportunity to gain professional insight into the strengths and weaknesses of your venture.
How to apply
Upload a two minute video pitch as your initial entry. Your video should tell us about your venture. What problem does it solve? How is it different from your competitors? What’s the business model? What are the market opportunities? Why are you the right person to manage it?
