After a successful inaugural event last year, Sunshine Coast Council’s HackFest is back in 2016. HackFest 2016 aims to link up community members and provide the incentive to participate, innovate, create, develop, and succeed.
Working in teams or individually, HackFest 2016 is for people with a mixture of skills including community members, entrepreneurs, developers, designers, digital media creators, artists, story tellers, researchers and open data enthusiasts, to hack – “take something and make it better” and create an outcome over an entire weekend. Major prizes provided by the HackFest 2016 partners will be on offer. Visit this webpage regularly as details of the great prizes on offer become available closer to the event date.
Ideasfest
As part of HackFest 2016, council is also running an online IdeasFest. The IdeasFest is the opportunity for the whole Coast community to contribute ideas or issues that can be used to create themes for HackFest 2016.
Your ideas
Your ideas and feedback are needed to ensure HackFest 2016 aligns with, and benefits the community. Council invites ideas for a solution or mobile application that would benefit the Coast community and ideas that will help solve a community or business issue. You are invited to attend HackFest 2016 and be part of the team that creates a solution for your idea or you can attend the HackFest event opening night and pitch your idea to the HackFest participants.
Or you can just nominate your idea. All ideas will be considered.
