Silicon Coast Sunshine Coast Council, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and TAFE QLD have collaborated to provide the Sunshine Coast community free access to specialist digital skills training. After months of hard work and online meetings, we are proud to announce the launch of NEXT LEVEL.

We recently had the media launch of NEXT LEVEL at venue 114 with Sunshine Coast Mayor Mark Jamieson, along with Iain Rouse from Amazon Web Services (AWS),  from TAFE QLD, and Gavin Keeley, our Silicon Coast chair. We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who attended yesterday’s launch. I also would like to personally thank our collaborators’ partners, Iain, Jodi, Emma, and the team at Amazon Web Services (AWS), Angela and the team from TAFE Queensland, and Tim and the Sunshine Coast Council team for all their hard work on developing this program for our Sunshine Coast community.

We believe that the NEXT LEVEL program is a fabulous opportunity for employees and business owners across the Sunshine Coast to develop their digital skills for future employability and business growth.

NEXT LEVEL collaboration offers FREE cybersecurity and digital skills training to Sunshine Coast residents, in an effort to future-proof the region’s digital capability. The courses will build new, job-ready skills in the areas of cloud computing, cybersecurity, and application and software development. Students, business owners, ICT professionals, and anyone interested in pursuing a technology career can participate in the online training.

Mayor Mark Jamieson said re-energising the Sunshine Coast economy, supporting shovel-ready projects and backing local businesses are the key priorities of the Economic Resurgence Plan.

“Importantly, our Resurgence Plan will continue to focus on transforming our economy in line with the objectives of our Regional Economic Development Strategy,”. “One of the key elements of our plan is a new collaboration with AWS to offer digital training, available on-demand, to our community to enable continual education and build new skills in cloud computing, machine learning, and data analytics.”
