Join local entrepreneurs for Startup weekend pre-event function

The Sunshine Coast’s third annual Startup Weekend will bring together more than 100 designers, developers, students, creatives and business people for 54 hours of hands-on entrepreneurship. Held at Spark Bureau in Maroochydore, the event is designed to equip aspiring entrepreneurs with the skills, connections and hands-on experience they need to create and launch their own startup ventures. Free WiFi expanded on Sunshine Coast

Sunshine Coast Council has installed new WiFi access points at Mooloolaba Beach, Alexandra Headland and Maroochydore Beach, expanding WiFi to over 70 access points at 21 locations across the region. Mayor Mark Jamieson said WiFi was one of many smart integrated technologies council is trialling and installing as part of its Smart City Framework. “Council will also install free WiFi later this year as part of the Bulcock Street streetscape upgrade in Caloundra and will continue to look for opportunities to expand the WiFi network.” Mayor Jamieson said data collected about WiFi usage would help council provide the right services in…

The Creative Collective is hosting a screening of CODE: Debugging the Gender Gap on 12 May, a film that explores the reasons behind the gender and minority gap in tech. Tech Savvy Seniors @ Noosa Library

From February, Noosa Library Service will run an exciting new range of courses especially for seniors including the use of computers, tablets and smartphones. These will be fun, hands-on, and will assist with everyday online tasks such as banking, business, and more. 2016 Digital Consumer Survey shows ‘sluggish’ consumer demand

The 2016 Accenture Digital Consumer Survey for communications, media and technology companies polled 28,000 consumers in 28 countries on their use of consumer technology.
